There is joy in authentic community

Joining a local body of believers is an important step as you mature in your faith. As the local church, we want to equip you as a follower of Jesus to make disciples and to use your unique gifts to serve the Kingdom of God. If you are ready to grow, we hope you will consider joining our faith family through membership.

Below you will find an overview of our church membership process.

1. Application

If you are interested in becoming a member at Thorington Road, filling out an application is your first step. The information you provide will give us insight into what God is doing in your life and will help us point you toward a place in our ministry where you can use your unique gifts to serve the body of Christ.

2. Meet with a Pastor

At Thorington Road, we believe that every story matters. Through the membership process, you will sit down with one of our pastors so they can get to know your story and help you see how it can play a vital role in the expansion of God's kingdom through this local body of believers.

3. Connection Class

Our hope for this class is that you would learn about the mission of Thorington Road and how you can be a part of seeing it fulfilled. The class is offered on select Sunday afternoons throughout the year from 12-1pm with lunch provided. Childcare is available for those with younger children.

Baptism

We believe that immersion baptism is an outward act of obedience that symbolizes our death to the old way of life and our resurrection to a new life in Christ. If you have not been baptized, this is something we can talk more about during the membership process. Feel free to view our statement of faith if you have additional questions.

After you have completed all the steps for membership, we would love to publicly introduce you to our faith family and officially welcome you into our fellowship.

Take a few moments to read below about what membership means to us.

"Being a member here doesn't mean that I just sit in a pew; it means that I get to play an active role in what God is doing through my church family."
